As president of the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) in 1989, Rodel initiated the transfer to City College of 15 acres of the So. Balboa Reservoir - the future site of the new Performing Arts Center, the new Joint Use Facility and the new Science/Technology Center. As chair of the Board*s Facilities Committee, he led the campaign to secure the funds ($850-M) from city bonds and state matching grants to build our new Wellness Center, our new Student Health Center, our new Mission Campus, and our new Chinatown campus*which will begin construction soon.
